Role Description

The Cardiac Technician plays a vital role in delivering high-quality ambulatory cardiac monitoring services by reviewing, analyzing, and processing cardiac studies with accuracy and attention to detail. This position is responsible for:

  • Identifying and documenting cardiac rhythms, arrhythmias, and clinically significant events.
  • Preparing preliminary reports for physician interpretation.
  • Escalating urgent findings in accordance with established clinical protocols.
  • Providing patient support by assisting with monitor use and troubleshooting device issues.
  • Ensuring successful study completion while maintaining excellent customer service.

Working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, they adhere to quality standards, departmental procedures, and regulatory requirements while effectively managing multiple priorities. The ideal candidate possesses strong ECG interpretation skills, critical thinking abilities, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering safe, efficient, and patient-centered care.

Cardiac Monitor Technicians perform patient monitoring duties in the telemetry areas and are responsible for informing physicians of any arrhythmias or changes in the patient's rate or rhythm.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in MS Internet Explorer, Excel, and various MS Office programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent phone manner.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Organizational skills, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task.
  • Awareness of internal and external customer needs.
  • Ability to understand the importance of a “team” concept.

Requirements

  • Must be flexible in terms of working hours to meet the requirements of the position.
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
  • Must be able to speak clearly on the telephone.
  • Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer as needed.
